IPIS (Integrated Patient Information System) - PDA Application and Desktop version FAQs

What is IPIS?
Integrated Patient Information System (IPIS) is a patient information keeper software. This information helps the doctors / residents to Add or Edit patient information on go. This system helps minimizing and maintaining administrative expenses.

IPIS software has three components:
1. Desktop 2.0
2. Palm 2.0
3. Synchronization 2.0

Can I still use my personal Palm application?
You will still be able to use the Palm applications as well as your other personal applications.

How much free memory does IPIS require?
Available memory for application – 175KB
Available memory for Patient Data – minimum of 25KB

How do I download and install IPIS?
To install IPIS for the first time onto your Palm(tm)-compatible device:
1. Download the installer file to your local computer and save it to an appropriate folder.
2. Locate the file you just downloaded from the web on your local computer.
3. Decompress the file using WinZip (try it free from www.winzip.com)
4. Activate the Install Tool on your desktop
5. If there are more than one Palm (tm) device users that use your desktop, you will be asked to choose which Palm™ device is to be installed. Choose your name, and click OK.
6. The file you just chose will appear in the Install Tool window. Click OK.
7. Sync your device.
8. Once the sync function is completed, click on the "home" button until "All" filter is present.
9. Locate IPIS-installer Install.
10. Tap on the installer. You will see the progress of the installer as it expands files for the new product version.
Note: The installation instructions above will assume that you have basic understanding of installing software onto Palm devices.

Can I enter information on my desktop version and transfer it to IPIS?
Yes, you can enter on any of the versions and after synchronization both will be effected with the latest data.

How do I purchase?
You can register IPIS at www.Handango.com (use the keyword IPIS in Healthcare section of handandgo site) or by calling the above telephone number. Once you have paid, you will receive an email with a key to register the program, along with full instructions on how to do this.

What devices will IPIS work on?
Palm version of Integrated Patient Information System will run on any device that uses the Palm Computing Platform, PalmOS version 3.0 or higher. Examples of these devices include:

The Palm III, IIIe, IIIx
The Palm V, Vx
The Palm VII, VIIx
The Visor
The Visor Deluxe
The TRG Pro
The Sony Clie

How long is the trial period for IPIS?
The trial period is for 7 days. The trial version is fully functional, but does not allow access to your data after the trial period expires.

Do I have to purchase Desktop version in order to be able to use IPIS PDA version?
No, you can use is as a separate application.

How beaming works with IPIS to other devices?
IPIS gives you the ability to beam patient data to your colleagues. From the main screen, tap the button "Beam Rec" by selecting any particular patient or tap "BeamAll" in order to send all the patient records.
